We are always working on hat and scarf sets to benefit Putting Prayers to Action in Appalachia and Seafarers International House in NYC. Download the knitting and crochet patterns, pick up yarn (there is some available at church!), and bring your finished items to church. Brightly colored items will go to Appalachia and dark colors will go to Seafarers.
In 2024 we are also collecting handmade baby blankets, booties, jackets, hats, and scarves to help mothers in need. Any design and color combination is welcome and yarn is available at church. Blankets are due back to the church by April 21st, 2024.
In 2023 we blessed and sent over 60 sets of hats, scarves, and mittens to Putting Prayers to Action!
Keep knitting and crocheting sets in bright colors and look for them to be blessed and sent in September 2024.
Since starting this ministry in 2007, Messiah has sent over 600 hat and scarf sets to children in Appalachia.
In 2023 we made over 60 bags containing hats and scarves for Seafarers working on container ships.
Please keep knitting and crocheting hats and scarves in dark colors to be given to seafarers in 2024 and 2025.
