Messiah’s 100 Coat Challenge

Everyone should have one warm coat, yet nearly 15% of Americans are living in poverty and are struggling to provide warm coats for themselves and their families.

This year Messiah Lutheran is holding a coat drive through One Warm Coat. Donations of gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens can be left in the narthex through Sunday, December 11th.  A bin is available outside of the church so that anyone from the community can drop off a donation 24 hours a day.

It is imperative that we let our friends and family know about the coat drive. Please do so by taking some flyers at church and sharing them with family and friends or hanging them where you go to eat, shop, exercise, have your hair cut, etc.  Please also forward to your friends and family the email regarding the coat drive that went out recently.

Our goal is to collect 100 coats.  The men’s coats will be given to the Emergency Shelter at St. Paul’s Development Corporation in Paterson.  Coats for women and children will go to the Center for Hope and Safety.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
